Band

Somrak was formed in 2001 by several individuals that had the urge to compose some carcinogenic Black Metal and spread the Devil's message. The beginning years were a whole of numerous recordings and line-up changes of little significance.

The first release that became infamous in Black Metal circles was the 2005 split Somrak / Aesthenia – Gathering At The Ruins / Invocations Unto Belial, released through Vile Art Records. What followed was the 2007 debut album The Abhorred Blessings via Decadence Through Ruination.

With debut in existence, Somrak performed over five years as either headliners or supporting act; leaving their traces at festivals such as Metal Mania, Dunkelheit, Under The Black Sun,… alongside Nehëmah, Sargeist, Inquisition, Urgehal,… Before starting to compose new material for the next album, Somrak ended live presence with a tour with Corpus Christii.

In 2010, Somrak released another split with their native kin of Grimoir, Krvnik and Samomor, entitled Covenant Of The Undivine.

The beginning of 2012 was marked with a tour with Ondskapt and The One. And the continuation through the year lead to the recording of the second album: The Blackwinged Serpent Crowned – a devious and malignant manifestation of Devil’s presence and origins released by Necroterror Records.. To end the cycle of 2012, another tour with Corpus Christii will be embarked across Europe.
